Hadrian, 117-138. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 2.17 g, 6 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Rome, after 135. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS Bare head of Hadrian to right. Rev. SALVS AVG Salus standing right, feeding serpent rising from altar with her right hand and holding patera in her left. Cf. RIC II, Part 3, 792 (for obverse) and RIC II, Part 3, 2047 (for reverse). An interesting imitation of excellent style. Somewhat crystallized and with minor cleaning scatches, otherwise, extremely fine.
